We regret to record the death of Mr George Morgan, which occurred at Hokitika, after a long and painful illness. George was the sixth son of the late James Morgan, and was a native of Kumara. He would have been 31 years of age next month. He served in the South African War, being a member of one of the New Zealand contingents. He bore his suffering with great fortitude, and although he knew his end was near, he was always cheerful.

It is my sad duty to record yet another death among our young folk. This time the sad fate has fallen to the lot of Miss Barbara Morgan, who passed away at three o'clock yesterday morning at her mother's residence, Fifth Street. Deceased was only 21 years of age and a native of Kumara. She had been a sufferer for some? time, and her end was therefore not unexpected. To the bereaved mother, sisters and brothers we tender our sincere sympathy.

Births
Morgan - On the 13th July, at her residence, Main street, the wife of Mr James Morgan, of triplets - two sons and a daughter.
-
A very interesting announcement appears in this day's issue. On Friday last Mrs James Morgan presented her husband with two boys and a girl. One of the triplets has since died; but the parents, who are comparatively young, have now fourteen olive branches living out of sixteen born alive. Mr Morgan is the minning manager for the Long Tunnel Gold Mining Company
