Sands - At Gore on Wednesday 21st December (the result of an accident), George Albert, dearly beloved husband of Jeannie Sands, 178 Crinan Street, and second son of Robert and Mary Sands, late of Winton; aged 38 years. The funeral will leave his parents' residence, Spey Street, Invercargill, on Friday, 23rd inst., at 1 p.m. for the Eastern Cemetery. Friends please accept this (the only) intimation. - J. A Fatal Fall
Stock Inspector Killed
    George Albert Sands, Stock Inspector at Lumsden, met with a fatal accident at Lumsden on Tuesday evening. It is understood that while riding a horse over jumps he was thrown off and rendered unconscious. He was taken to the Gore Hospital but succumbed to his injuries about 4 p.m. yesterday. An inquest will be held at Gore.
    A distressing feature of the fatality is that the deceased's wife is in hospital in a very critical condition
