     Aunty Edie (Edith Catherina) and Aunty Elsa (Elsa Margaret)lived in Nelson on the corner of Collingwood and Hardy Streets - 290 Hardy Street. When Aunty Elsa died, Aunty Edie moved to 90 Nile Street in Nelson, opposite the Nelson Central Primary School. Across the Street was a Griffins confectionary factory. James Charles Pye (Jamie) remembers the lovely smells and seeing liquorice allsorts being made by peeking through the windows

Aunty Edie & Elsa both worked as housemaids in a pub in Bridge Street in Nelson and Aunty Elsa used to take home flagons of beer and used to drink too much on some occasions and when this happened Jamie remembers her talking a lot

Jamie remembers visiting her when he was in his 1st year of work (started work 1956) at Christmas time and taking a book about electronics. He stayed 3 weeks. He remembers being in a small room
