Obituary
Mr. M. F. Constable
After a short illness, Mr. Mostyn Fred Constable died at Wellington Hospital late last month.
Born in Nelson, he joined the Nelson Branch of Sargood, Son & Ewen in 1901, transferring to Wellington in 1907.
In 1915 he went to Napier as Manager, remaining until 1935. While in Napier he was president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club, and will be well remembered for his work on the Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation Committee, of which he was the last surviving member.
On returning to Wellington in 1935, he established an indent division, and this was created a subsidiary - Constable Textiles, Ltd., with Mr. Constable as director. He retired in 1957, after 55 years service. Mr. Constable was a member of the Commercial Travellors' Association for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, a daughter Joyce Arcus (Lower Hutt) and a son, Mr. L Buick-Constable, who is the education broadcasting officer at Suva, Fiji and four grandchildren
