Obituary
Mr H. Sexton
Found unconscious, after collapsing in a street last week, Mr Hector Stanley Percy Sexton of Peel Street, Cobden, died on Saturday evening.
Mr Sexton was born at Greymouth 55 years ago, and had resided in Cobden for the greater part of his life.
He had been a bridge carpenter with the Railways Department for over 30 years.
As a younger man he was a good athlete, having played Rugby League for the old Greymouth team and also for Blackball. He had a long association with the Cobden Rugby Club, and played representative Rugby for Inangahua and Buller. He was a keen cricketer.
Mr Sexton was also a noted swimmer in his younger days, having won several titles.
Mr Sexton is survived by his wife, a member of the Wildermoth family of Reefton, his mother, Mrs Constance Sexton (Cobden), one daughter, Shirley, Mrs A. McNabb (Christchurch), one son, Maurice (Wairakei), two brothers, William (Nelson), Gordon Sexton (Auckland)
