Bailey - June 6th, at his residence, St David street, Lyttelton, William Bailey the beloved husband of Bridget Bailey, after a long and painful illness, in his 51st year. Deeply regretted

Death of an Old Settler - An old resident of Lyttelton, in the person of Mr William Bailey, died on Friday night. Mr Bailey was born in Yorkshire and arrived in Lyttelton in 1862. He was engaged as storeman for Messrs Dalgety, Buckley, and Co. In March of 1870 he entered the service of the Government Railway Department. About fourteen months ago he suffered from jaundice, which complain was the cause of his death. He was a great favourite with all who knew him. He was a prominent member of the Oddfellows' Lodge in Lyttelton. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon in the Catholic Cemetery, his remains being followed by about 250 mourners.
