Harold Alonzo Gichard joined the Army and became a Sergeant and he went overseas and was seriously injured so he was sent home and discharged. Harold and his father set up a business making Army badges. He later joined the Police Force as a Civil Defence Policeman where he became a Personal Assistant to the instructors of the department until he retired. During his retirement time Harold took on jewellery and travelled both the North and South Islands with his wife in a Camper Van. Details from J Whitford
