Man Killed In Accident
Sidney Tremaine, 84, died in an ambulance on his way to hospital after being involved in a motor accident in Levin last night.
Police said today that Mr Tremaine, 28 Cambridge Flats, Levin, was thought to have been crossing the street when he was struck by a car at 6.30 p.m. No car has yet been found and the police are making further inquires into the accident. Mr Tremaine was a brother of a former Palmerston North mayor, Mr G. Tremaine, now deceased, and after whom Tremaine Avenue was named
