Details from Masterton Oral History Archive Interview with Kenneth McIntyre Miller
Prior to her marriage Grace Pearl Allsworth worked in Watson's which was a quite big crockery shop not far from where the library is now (interview was done in 1985), just towards the Post Office.
Ken was her only child. She was a person that got on well with others and was always prepared to help out. She had a niece who lived about 1/4 mile away and who had 10 children and she would go there quite regularly and do the ironing and any chores that needed doing.
