At the recent examination for the registration of nurses under the Nurses' Registration Act, 1901, the following candidates in Wellington city and district were successful (names given in order of merit) :— Flora E. MIDWIFERY EXAMINATION
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES.
Twenty-six candidates were successful in the State examinations of midwives, conducted on 3rd and 4th June. The following were the successful candidates for the first six places :—
Gertrude E. Houghton (St. Helens Hospital, Christchurch), 1; Susie Way (St. Helens Hospital, Auckland), 2; Mary W. White (St. Helens Hospital, Dunedin), 3; Mary S. Neal (St. Helens Hospital, Wellington), 4; Matilda Moore (Townley Maternity Hospital, Gisborne), 5; Christina, J. Cameron (St. Helens Hospital, Wellington), Elizabeth M. Wix (St. Helens Hospital, Wellington), and Mary Parlane (Medical School Maternity Hospital, Dunedin), equal, 6.

NEW ZEALAND CONTINGENT.
FORTY-SEVEN CANDIDATES CHOSEN
The Imperial Government some weeks ago agreed to accept the services of fifty New Zealand nurses for service in the military hospitals at the front in Europe. Of these, forty-seven have now been chosen, upon the recommendation of Mrs. H. Maclean, Mation-in-Chief of the New Zealand Army Nursing Corps. Their names are as under :—

Sister Mabel Alleyne has returned from her visit to South Australia. She is much better, and has been doing some nursing in Hawke's Bay. She, with Sisters Ina Bennett, Smale, Cherry and Bayley, attended the parade when the Prince was there.
