Individual Note: Occ: Farmer and usual residence Fitzroy, Melbourne, Victoria details from Percival Herbert Hickey's Death Certificate
Percy Hickey had a brief All Black stint. After scoring a try in the interisland match of 1922 he was chosen for the tour of Australia.
But he appears to have had an unhappy tour. He played only two of the eight matches, the third and the fourth, and while he was chosen as a wing he played in both out of position, at centre against the Metropolitan Union and then at second five eighths in the second of the internationals against New South Wales.
The All Blacks lost this match 8-14 and Hickey appears to have been seen as one of the culprits contributing to the defeat. He was adjudged to have been guilty of shepherding from which NSW at a crucial time were awarded a penalty try.
A small but stockily built wing, Hickey made the All Blacks after having given Taranaki good service from the 1919 season. He played for Taranaki in their three Ranfurly Shield matches against Wellington in 1919-20 and for the province in the 0-all draw against the Springboks in 1921.
In 1925 playing from the Poneke club Hickey represented Wellington. He played for that union in the 20-11 Shield loss to Hawke's Bay and earlier in the season was in a combined Wellington-Manawatu-Horowhenua selection which lost to New South Wales in Palmerston North.

Drowning Case in the Harbour
This afternoon a child of three years named Kathleen O'Halloran, daughter of a Corporation employee, who lives in Grainger street, was drowned in the harbour near the Destructor. She went out to play, between 12 and 1 o'clock, with an older member of the family, and seems to have been paddling in the water and been washed off her feet by a wave and drowned before help could reach her. Dr. Pollen's services were secured, but on examining the body he found the little one to be quite dead
